Optimal Design of Injection Mould for Outlet of Automobile Air Conditioner

Abstract：Combining the structural characteristics of the plastic part of outlet at automobile air conditioner, the optimized design method combining partial and overall parting was used to part the mould cavity. According to the demoulding needs of the plastic part, the mould structure was determined to be a single cavity layout and direct gate pouring with two plates. The mould base was improved to increase one opening of the mould to drive the inclined top mechanism on the fixed mould to complete the first core pulling. Aiming at the demoulding of numerous and complex additional features on the plastic part, seven demoulding mechanisms were designed for the demoulding of these features, including one fixed-mould inclined top mechanism, two moving-mould inclined top mechanisms, and two moving-mould angle pin slide mechanism and two moving-mould hydraulic cylinder angled core pulling mechanisms. The moving-mould inclined top mechanisms were optimized to a universal inclined top mechanisms to reduce the use requirements of the mechanism on the size of the mould base. On each molded slides, for the molding of small-size features, the molded parts were optimized as combined small inserts, which effectively reduced the processing difficulty of the molded parts of the slide. The reasonable layout of the mould structure and the proper use of the mechanism structure can provide a useful reference for the production of injection moulds for similar plastic parts.
